About Me

I have a Ph.D. in Clinical and School Psychology from Hofstra University and valuable experience as a post-doctoral clinical research fellow at the NYU Child Study Center. I am licensed in New York and Connecticut.

Service and Leadership Roles

Clinical Advisory Board for Salvo Health, a virtual health clinic focusing on specialty care for chronic conditions, starting with GI/Gastro issues.

Co-Chair Membership Committee for ROME Gastro Psych, an international organization dedicated to the science and practice of psychogastroenterology, a burgeoning field with roots in behavioral intervention science, cognitive science, neuroscience and experimental psychology.

Scientific Advisory Board for My Best Practice, an electronic health record system designed by clinicians to support clinicians using evidence-based treatments to improve the lives of patients.

Founding member, and past president, of New York City Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (NYC-CBT)

In addition to my role as a therapist, I am also an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology at Brooklyn College of the City University of New York, and an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Mount Sinai School of Medicine. I have been teaching and supervising undergraduate and graduate students in cognitive and behavioral techniques for 10 years. My research focuses on investigating the consequences of comorbid anxiety and mood disorders and physical health problems, especially inflammatory bowel disease, irritable bowel syndrome, asthma, and nonorganic functional pain (e.g., chest, abdominal, and headaches), with specific attention to the development of integrative mind-body cognitive-behavioral treatment approaches.
